All five NiE programmes are based firmly on the curriculum and are easily implemented into your literacy programme. The teacher notes supporting each topic provide relevant curriculum links and include scaffolding suggestions, activities and ideas for further extension. During term 3 NiE ran a competition in conjunction with ACTIVboardNZ where a teacher or student could win a 78" ActivBoard and new ActivInspire software. The winning entry came from Mrs Jeanette Wilson of Levin School in the Horowhenua region. NiE representative Michael Conner and ACTIVboardNZ Director Murray Thoms attended an assembly run by the Hinua Tahi class on Thursday 22nd October to present Jeanette with her prize which will be fitted into her new entrant's classroom.
