How to enable dual display on a Windows laptop?
Applicable To
Any Windows laptop connecting to an external video display, such as a projector.
Information
Configuring RGB Analogue mode (Sanyo projectors):
Press 'Menu' on the projector or your remote control, navigate to the input menu, choose 'Computer 2', then choose 'RGB
Analogue' or 'RGB', not 'RGB Scart' or 'RGB Composite'.
Switching on Clone mode:
1. Right click the desktop, choose 'Properties' from the menu and navigate to the settings tab, read the line that starts 'Display:' it will mention an 'item 1 on item 2' the 'item 2' is the name of the graphics chipset used by this computer.

2. Follow the next step depending on the chipset:
a. Intel Chipset:
i. While in the display settings menu, click 'Advanced'.
ii. Navigate to the Intel tab (it will have an Intel logo).

iii. Click the 'Graphics Properties' button.
iv. There will be a list of device modes, like this:

There is only one device in this example, but you should see more, if not then the projector isn't properly connected.
v. One of the device modes listed will be called 'Clone', click that button.
vi. Click 'Apply'.
vii. Click 'OK'.
viii. Done.
b. NVIDIA Chipset:
i. While in the display settings menu, click 'Advanced'.
ii. Navigate to the NVIDIA tab (it will have an NVIDIA logo).

iii. If you can?t see the extra menu on the left then click the little green arrow icon.
iv. Navigate to the nView display mode on that menu.
v. Click 'Detect Displays'.
vi. Select the 'Clone' option.

vii. Click 'Apply'.
viii. Done.
c. ATI Chipset / Radeon
i. While in the display settings menu, click 'Advanced'.
ii. Navigate to the 'Displays' tab
iii. You should see panel and monitor icon at the bottom of this menu.

iv. Ensure the blue icon with a circle in it is selected in the panel section
v. Click the red icon at the top of the monitor section; it will change to a green colour, switching on that display. Ensure the icon with boxes is selected to set it as the second display.

vi. Click 'Apply'.
vii. Done
d. SIS
i. While in the display settings menu, click 'Advanced'.
ii. Go to the 'Utility Manager' tab.
iii. Click on the 'Driver Mode' option.
iv. You will then see a screen with an option labelled 'Display Mode', currently set as 'Single'.
v. Change 'Single' to 'Mirror' and click 'Ok'.
vi. Click 'Apply'.
vii. Click 'Apply'.
viii. Done.
