Information:
NB: Although there are some differences between Personal edition and Professional edition, they are actually installed from the same file. When you install the software, you are installing Personal edition. Professional edition is unlocked by using a serial number. Professional edition also comes with a resource pack, which will appear for download on the same page as the serial number.

Solution:
In order to download and install ActivInspire, you need to log into Promethean Planet (or register first if not already a member) and click on the 'Download ActivInspire' button from the Promethean Planet home page (www.prometheanplanet.com):

Select your language and region. Simply click on the link, fill in the necessary forms, and download the ActivInspire files. The option to download the Resource Pack appears on the page immediately after the Inspire Software download begins.

Ensure that you save both files rather than running, especially the resource pack and ensure that you know where the resource pack is saved. If you are on a Windows machine, install the .exe file. If on Mac, open the .dmg and run the two .pkg files. Note that you must install the driver separately on the Mac.

At the very bottom of this same web-page, there is an option to generate a new serial number for ActivInspire using your existing Hardware or Software serial number.

Open the software. If you have an ActivInspire serial number, input it here, read and accept the terms, click OK to open professional edition and then import the resource pack (See below). If you do not have an ActivInspire serial number, ensure that your hardware is connected and you should see an Upgrade Now button.

If this button is not available or says Buy Professional edition, your hardware is not detected; verify that the driver is installed and that your hardware is attached to your computer. If necessary, feel free to refer to our knowledgebase for troubleshooting help (http://www.prometheankb.com) or contact Promethean technical support.

Click on the Upgrade Now button and you will be brought to a Planet page with your resource pack and option at the bottom to generate a new ActivInspire serial number from your existing software or hardware serial number. Once generated go back into the software and input this number to open in Professional edition.

Once you are in Professional edition, you need to import your resource pack. Simply open the main menu, select File-Import- Resource Pack to Shared Resources and navigate to the .as4a resource pack file downloaded earlier.

I have an ActivInspire or ActivInspire Serial number/I have a new ActivInspire serial number/I want to purchase Professional edition:

• Follow the appropriate link, fill in the form.
• Input the necessary information (Serial number, credit card, etc.).
• Select the version of the software you need.
• Make a note of your serial number.
• Save the Application Installer and the Resource Pack to your hard drive.
• Run the Application Installer download.
• Open the software and input your serial number.
• Import the resource pack.

I want a free trial of Professional Edition/I want the free Personal Edition:

• Follow the appropriate link, fill in the form.
• Select the appropriate version of the software.
• Save the Application Installer.
• Run the application installer. Open the software and select Run Personal Edition.

I have an ActivBoard or Activhub:

• Follow the appropriate link, fill in the form.
• Select the appropriate version of the software.
• Save the Application Installer.
• Run the application installer. Ensure that the driver installs.
• Connect your existing Promethean hardware and ensure that it is detected by the driver.
• Open the software. Click on the Upgrade Now button.
• Select the appropriate version of the software.
• Make a note of your serial number.
• Save the Resource Pack to your hard drive.
• Open the software (if not still open) and input your serial number.
• Import the resource pack.
